This question is for the "non-English" Census-filling-in peeps.
My Census form is the "England Household Form" version, which seems to omit Question 9 (as in "This question is not applicable in England").
Can any "foreigners" enlighten me as to what Q9 is all about (it's the one before the Jedi answer!).
ta,

Its only if you're part of the Rebel Alliance, and live outside our known galaxy - or welsh!

Folks,
the reason why i am bringing this up is because i believe that the non-English census participants can enter their nationality as, for example, "Scottish" in Q9, whereas us _Englanders_ can only be "British".
Please, can anyone post the "non-English" Q9 question?

Scottish one says:
"Can you read, write or speak Gaelic"
etc, etc, etc.....(like the welsh example above.
So, are you telling me that you can be Scottish, Welsh or "British"
Hahahahaha.......I know what I'm happy to be

Am I alone in thinking in this ultra-PC society New Labia are trying to create, it's deemed unacceptable to be "English". It seems that your can descriminate against a white Englishman in ways that would be totally unacceptable if you are non-white, non-English or non-male.
Even my Canadian girlfriend thinks English white males are descriminated against.
Time for Jedi Englishman to reclaim the empire!!!

Hi boomer
Hope you had a good day on saturday, it's the sunniest we've had for a while!
Question 9 reads...
Allwch chi ddeall, siarad, darllen, neu ysgrifennu Cymraeg?
English version...
Can you understand, speak, read, or write Welsh?
choice of answers...
Understand spoken Welsh
Speak Welsh
Read Welsh
Write Welsh
None of the above
Hope this helps

How strange?
So what about Welsh or Scottish people who actually live in England? What about English people who can speak Welsh or Gaelic?
Kinda makes that particular statistic completely bogus!

I agree with the points above. I think you should be able to say whether you are Scottish, Welsh, Irish or English if you are one of those.
Hence I crossed out the word British on my census form and wrote English above it, then ticked the box!
What is wrong with being English these days and why can't we say that we are English because the country I belong to may form part of Britain, but my nationality is ENGLISH, not BRITISH!! The same for the people who belong to Scotland, Nothern Ireland and Wales. I bet they would rather not use British?
Everytime I fill in a form whether it be for work, or an application form for whatever, I always state that I am ENGLISH.
Anyway I think this Census is a complete waste of time and effort. They already have most of the info on you anyway and the only question I could see of any relevance was how do you travel to work. The fact that I live 22 miles away from work, the option to put walk was very tempting!!!!
