I did see some program on Discovery about a chap from Bristol who had something similar.

It was a platform with hydraulic lifts which gave him the 3 dimensional movement and added realism.

With a couple of PC's driving his flight sim he had spent a shed load of money to get as close to realism as possible.

Would have been cheaper getting his PPL and hiring a plane.
