Guy's and gal's, I have a Clatronic crap DVD player. I noticed whilst looking at the display that it has VCD on it.
Cool I thought and went and obtained some nice VCD films. However when I put in the VCD it comes up Wrong or bad disc. Is there a code to make it multi region or something? would thus make it play VCD? Should I just use the hammer and buy another?
My neighbour bought a £68 one from asda and that plays them. Why can't mine?
Anyone help me before I kill my current DVD player?

VCD's are not regionalised. The reason your player may not play VCD's could be due to the dye on the media or the fact that it does not support vcd version 2.0 Try different media if not stick to DVDR or get yourself down to your local asda
TBH VCD/SVCD's are on their way out due to the low cost and increasing compatability of DVDR movies.

I want to play 8 mile on my tele, a PC screen is too small.

Because they're cheapskates who have bought a generic DVD-player display from an LCD producer rather than commisioning a custom display for tehir own player.

Jason, I wouldnt have a clue how to go about that, I think i'd need a TV card? I have no outputs apart from the monitor plug, maybe I could get a lead?

I had one player similar, and it did play vcd's
but only 'original silver pressed' vcds, it would not play any cdr's whatsoever
took it back, and got an Acoustic Solutions, plays everything I chuck at it
I got TV out too on my laptop which is handy too
