Green House - For Shunks, hybrds, etc
Axbraxas - cool mellow atmosphere, good weed
Barneys Breakfast Bar - Open from 7am to 7pm and do the best fry ups in town!!!

How do I know, I've been there 4 or 5 times with some very harden smokers, and one of them lives out there. They have found the above through trial and error!!!

In fact I'm arranging a stag do out there for the 27th April!

Steer clear of the obvious tourist coffee houses like Grasshopper and Bulldog. Check out the smaller local bars (where the Dutch go - much better all round). It's a pretty laid back place (surprise...), but be sensible, if you stray of the beaten track too far you can find yourself in some fairly iffy areas. You will be offered everything under the sun, and you'll see junkies openly shooting up heroin - not exactly your tourist view of Amsterdam. Had a nasty experience over there last year, when a mate of mine who isn't exactly the shy and retiring type had a knife pulled on him after an 'encounter' in one of these areas.

Please don't get the wrong impression, it is a great place, but just as there are areas of London I wouldn't walk about in on my own, the same is true of Amsterdam.

Dont act remotely interested in the guys who say "Coke, Speed, Ecstacy" all day long to tourists, unless you want a tag along with you on your holiday.
Do take time with the smoke, dont be typically English and ask for the strongest stuff there is as it will be strong!
Do enjoy yourself, its hard not to!!!!!!!!

 

Try the manali cream, it's lovely.

Do, 'no matter how cheesy it may seem' go to cassa rossa for their live sex show. (smoke some nice skunk before going there)

I have never laughed as much in my life. It is utterly hilarious. We had to leave, I couldn't take it. I actually let go a small dribble of wee from laughing so much. (should I be admitting this on the internet?)

There's a place called the supper club to look up for dinner. Not been there myself, but reports are top.

 

Don't take pictures in the red light area. They don't seem to like it and you will attract unwanted attention from the "pimps" or whatever they are.
