Gran Turismo 3 delayed!!

Originally due Autumn last year, then missing Christmas and being pencilled in for Feb/March, the eagerly awaited PS2 remake/follow-up is now not due to reach Japan until April. This is "in order to bring up the quality of the game as high as possible".
While April doesn't sound to bad, we've been told that the European and US release dates will move accordingly, meaning a June/July launch in the UK at the earliest. And will Sony really want to release such a blockbusting title in the traditionally static summer period? Could we be looking at September for the UK GT3 instead? We certainly hope not.

Mr.Cookie,
Have you tried SSX snowboarding ??? It's pretty good! What about midnight club, that's ok as well....but Ridge racer V has to be the worst game I've played on it !!!
Bring on GT3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GT3 will look good, but it will still have the same old problems of GT2:
- You either win easily or lose dreadfully.
- No feeling of close racing
- No damage, and hence no risk in flying into bends
- Micras beating Scoobys if you make a small mistake
- Not enough cars per race
- No crashes
etc etc
Will buy it when its out though

GT2 does have dammage but it doesent show. If you pile into a wall the handling becomes iffy on the side you hit. This makes racing very difficult. You need to go to the options area to turn it on though.
The main problem with GT2 is that most of the races are too short so if you stuff it up you have no chance to get back in the race. In GT1 many races were six laps and the championships were longer so you could loose a race but still win the series.
I think the format of GT1 was better. And Silent scope is pants (its going gack to the shop at lunchtime!)

I have played the following games on the PS2 and here are my opinions on them.
Ridge Racer V : Very nice graphics and presentation except they forgot about the gameplay
Timesplitters : Absolute rubbish compared to how well this type of game is done on the PC.
Midnight Racing : Personally thought this was pants. Rubbish compared to midtown madness on the PC
Teken Tag : Very good except basically the same as every other Teken game you have ever played.
Track and Field : Good fun with a group of friends I found the Rythmic Gymnastics strangely addictive. No great advance on Daley Thompsons Decathlon/Hyper Olympics etc.
Overall there is nothing which makes you want to buy A PS2 just to play it. Very disapointing

My dream game on PS2 would be an update of Doom. I know Doom 3 is in production on the PC.
The level design of DOOM II was remarkable and the Sound on the Playstation version still ranks as my favorite game sound track ever.
Wow!

p.s. Whats wrong with Timesplitters? I think it's only fault is the fact that it's a no-brainer.
