try overwater hall in ireby, cumbria. book the turret room (with four poster). isolated. hard to find. luxurious. massive wine cellar. top chef. heavy snow in winter. AWD de rigeur.

don't forget the sybian (though i can't vouch for the sound-proofing). that so many people here know what one is - is just hilarious. anyone actually bought one???

Look up Ryanair.com and book a weekend away wherever the flights are cheapest.
I do this I fly from prestwick to stanstead then stenstead to wherever. Once there, find a nice hotel and have fun.
Its all a bit of an adventure and flights generally cost about a fiver each way from stanstead to europe.
