Question

I have just ordered a new DVD player, AV Amp and Speakers. I now need some DVDs to show the system off the the other half -i.e. prove it wasn't a complete waste of money First up will be the obligatory Matrix... Then what ??

What are the best films for demonstrating full Dolby Digital or DTS suurond sound ?

Has anybody got the Gladiator DVD yet - What is the soundtrack like ?

Thanks

Dean

Yes. Stupid F'ing mouse. I've got one of those microsoft 4 button mice. Great for playing quake, crap if I hit the wrong mouse button.

On the whole DTS sounds a shed load clearer than DD 5:1. Did'nt think I'd be able to hear the difference as people said it was close. They were wrong

The "I know Kung Fu" scene from The Matrix should demonstrate the dialogue capabilities of your centre channel.
There is a DVD of Metallica in concert with an orchestra supporting them.
Now, I don't like metal but that had my foot tapping!
You might want to try True Lies as well.
And Daylight.

Got GLADIATOR but it's for chrimbo and the wife has hidden it ARMMAGEDON,RONIN, THE MUMMY, has anyone seen DETROIT ROCK CITY?
this is a minter of a film, I may be a little
biased being a KISS fan, but the soundtrack
is great and also mirrors my childhood, to a
certain extent.....

Howsabout the Zerg/Buzz intro sequence to Toy Story 2. Quite swoopy soundtrack and excellent at apocalyptic volumes! If you've got kids it'll keep them quiet for an hour or two into the bargain. I don't have kids and it shuts me up
The Matrix ooh yes.
Re: Camk's comments on Saving Private Ryan - I'll vouch for that. Just duck or those bullets will get you.

Well I've picked the Amp and DVD player up today. I've bought Gladiator to give it all a test tonight....

I like Blade and Ronin so will probably add them soon. Thanks for all the recommendations.....
