Looks like a wine run to France tonight. or maybe in the morning. If I get toCalais after normal closing time can anyone recommend somewhere to buy cheese and the like from (to take back home, not eat there!!) I am fine for the wine, I believe Eastenders is open all night.

Cheers,

Ken

When you go to france I hope you never come back to the UK.

It's people like you who are screwing this country up.

Keep your money in Britain.

Don't like to disapoint you Ned, but if you knew anything at all about the Isle of Man, you would know it's not part of Great Britain to start with, I'm only passing through as it is. Perhaps it's partly because of really helpful people like you I no longer live there now!
Vive le France you pityful little englander.

Anyone who has a problem with Britain should leave. Hats off to you Ken, you did the right thing - we need more people like you.

Hopefully one day this country will return to the land of hope and glory with true patriots.

what stereo/tv's do you have?

'True patriots'??? please define that term.

kenb@manx - sorry to go a bit off topic. If you have no luck with the cheese, pop in & I can dig out some stuff from my fridge

Why go to a supermarket? Surely you should support your local independent shops and keep the community around you thriving?

I think you'll find it's the government fooking the country up

If we had taxes that were anywhere near reasonable it wouldn't be any cheaper to go abroad for beer and **** so everyone would buy here, pay the tax, more money would be raised from more tax payers, jobs a good un simple really

I buy Indian tea too.....PG Tips!!!

I thought about Yorkshire tea, to keep patriotic, but I can't find where you grow tea leaves in Britain (apart from Liverpool!)

I will have to leave the country...the only british things I've got are my HiFi/AV and wife&daughter.......

"take a chill pill"

perhaps you should change your name to Alf Garnet

Ken,

Sorry can't help you....

Ned,

Market forces mate. I go to France and stock up from time to time and buy a nice meal while I'm there. However last time Sainsbury's were doing a special offer on Becks beer and Verve Cliquot champagne and my local off licence were doing a good deal on some nice wine so it was cheaper to buy here.

But of course that's German beer and French wine and champagne...

Ken
I'm not knocking you - I drop in for wine on the way back from ski trips - even better - going straight past

But,

I am fine for the wine, I believe Eastenders is open all night.
"Fine", wine and "Eastenders" is a bit of a paraphrase
