Knackered TV ?
#2
Have an 8 year old Sony TV that had a hiccup on Sat.
Whilst watching it it suddenly went very dark and everything went very red - for example a football match went from being fine to impossible to watch, I think it had lost the ability to show greens.
Any ideas what went wrong ??
Yesterday went looking at new Sony widescreen TVs (favourite is the KV32FX66 (!) and when I got home my TV was fine again !!
Any suggestions why it is know OK and assuming it is on the way out anybody got any recommendations with what to replace it with ?
Thanks

Might not be as terminal as the tube, could be as simple as a dry joint on the CRT base, or a fault in the colour stage, possibly the colour output transistor.
Best get a new widescreen though
