Put my Scoob up for sale , had 2 people interested who seemed genuine. Was willing to negotiate price, gave them my mobile number via email so they could ring me and we could discuss things. I have heard nothing from either of them. If they had decided they weren't interested after all then it would have been nice for them to at least to have emailed and let me know. Feel like i've wasted my time!

Oh and another classic regarding the Scoob sale, got a phone call at 4.15 Sat night/Sunday morning from some divvy wanting to ask some questions about the car?! I politely told him where he could stick his questions at that time of the morning!!

What is it with people now? Am I the only one left with the common decency to let people know whether i'm still interested in whatever they are selling or not?!

Feel for you...human nature seems to be going rapidly downhill the more I see of it...

I'm up for hibernation, I think...starting now.

Each new generation gets worse. People are just **** on the whole. Everytime I cath myself thinking what a nice bloke or lass someone is, and helpful etc. I wonder why that shouldn't be the norm. My parents brought me up to treat people the way I would like them to treat me. It's not hard to be a decent person IMHO.

I sympathise with you, I put some bits in for sale early last month, agreed that I would hold the water injection till the end of the month until the guy got paid, still heard nothing not replying to emails etc

You think your helping someone and they treat you like that, pi$$es you off

playing devils advocate and not knowing how you advertised it, but the magazines recommend you don't deal with sellers who give mobile numbers only. If they didn't have your land line number this may have put them off.

I feel for you Red Dog.. I've had the same problems with three people now regrading my wheels.. Why I ask? and no its not just because I have a mobile number only (no land line at all) because I had just sent them the piccies - they could have said that didn't like them, or weren't interested after all....

Hi Shaggy

Good holiday?! My point exactly!! Anyway, I also gave them my daytime land line number to call so it wasn't like they didn't have an option of where to ring! I just find it so frustrating that people tell you they are a genuine buyer then don't bother responding!

Tip? If anyone gets an offer, stick a clear time limit on it. "So if I don't hear from you by Thursday, I can sell it to someone else?" If someone else calls in the meantime, say "Ring me after Thursday when someone else might have dropped out."

I always try to do that, even when buying, to show good faith.

I actually emailed one of them yesterday and said that if I hadn't heard by this morning I would assume that he was no longer interested. Looks like i'm back to square one again!

guys, know exaxtly what you mean & with every generation it seems to get worse...yes I agree with you (wife nods & confirms that I am turning into Victor Meldrew)

when I put my 95 scoob on here for sale with 140,000 miles on, I got asked "what does the engine look like" ??????

I didn't bother answering

You'd be surprised...when I sold my very first car to a University student, the FIRST thing he said when he got in it was "Why are there 3 pedals?"

a-bluh???!! Ever driven a manual car before?

Oh yes...passed my test in a manual...

Riiiiight...ooookay then....

God yeah - selling a car is a nightmare. People always phone up and go over the details they already know - they were printed in the advert. Yes, it is silver. Yes it does have a FSH you moron! I had two guys arrange to meet me and then not turn up without even phoning to cancel. *******

just to let you know there is light at the end of the tunnel..

I sold my previous car through Autotrader web site and only had 1 caller, he came to see from about 150miles away! left deposit and picked it up on a truck a few days later!

looks like selling the scooby might not be as easy..
