Saw a prog on tv last nigh about some bloke who used to be in a band called Visage in the 80's. I heard a few secs of one of their tracks and then did a search on kazaa. Dloaded a track called "fade to grey". Sounded quite cool i thought, may lead to me re discovering some 80s music, is this sad?
I have to say it beats the crap out of cardboard unimaginative acts like gareth gates and all that other manufactured crap they seem to have in charts nowadays.

"some bloke who used to be in a band called Visage"!!! my god. the youth of today. Steve Strange was one of the pioneers of the New Romantics, which led to Soft Cell, Depeche Mode, Spandau Ballet (before they went all namby pamby with "True" and "Gold", etc), Ultravox, OMD. (Also Duran Duran but you cant blame him for that!)
I now feel really old. Thanks very much!!!

Having played GTA Vice City last night for the first time I can categorically state that 80s tunes rule! Been cruising around on my bike listening to them! Then I get bored and stab some people with a screwdriver

I'd rather listen to 80's pop, pixie boots bandana's and all the ****e clothing, hairstyles rather than listen to the manufactured pop music of the past 10 years, but the kids of today will say the same thing in 2020, when they'll remember Gareth, Boyzone, Blue, Westlife and the rest with fondness, poor *******
Visage made some cracking tunes for the time, its a shame about Steve Strange, the geezer is a wreck nowadays back in the mid to late 80's Camden Palace was an excellant place to be on a Friday or Saturday, my how things have changed.

Got Appetite on vinyl complete with the sleeve they had to change!
I was generalising, there was some worth while music that managed to rear it head in the 80's, but most of it was just pure dross!

TFF - Pale Shelter / Suffer the children, those songs (original 12") bring back good memories, man I cant belive that was 20 years ago, how quickly it passes.
The following will be in the car later for an 80's fest
TFF- The Hurting
Heaven 17 - Penthouse and Pavement
ABC - Lexicon of love
Human League - Dare
Duran Duran - Rio
Gary Numan - Gt Hits
Visage - Visage
Fasion - cant remember the title
Bowie - Scary Monsters
Adam and the Ants - Kings of the wild Frontier
Thompson Twin - Gt Hits
Soft Cell - Gt Hits
I'll give it a week before they start getting replaced

80's music rules!!!!!!!!!!!!! IMHO - the best period for great Pop & Rock.
DP.
(Have to say I thought Duran Duran were gods, then 1986 and I hear Master of Puppets by Metallica - life changes in an instant!).
