How long between verbal NIP and Summons?

Seriously it is not me... for once..
Mate was a muppet and got stopped for 112mph in a 60mph zone and it eatting humble pie big time..
This was 6weeks ago and he has had nothing through the post?
Is there a time within which a court date etc.. needs issuing..
Obviously the 14days for NIP doesn't apply as it was verbal as he was pulled over..

don't know what the time limit is but he might be lucky...
...my mate was caught on film by an unmarked Omega doing 140+ in a 70 limit in his P1. They rightfully told him how wreckless he was and said they would throw the book at him...this was 6 months ago and he hasn't heard anything???

Seriously not me..
Mate on his R1... he was stopped by a bike that was sat behind a tree with a radar gun or something..
12months!!! :OMG: I shall let him know.
He was banned a few years back for 121mph in a 60mph.. which makes him even more of a muppet..

Bit of background info..
His wife left him for someone else, he got offered to work abroad.. accepted and first night he was there he was a passenger in a car which crashed and he broke his leg, had complication after complication and about 4years later he was finally getting back to normal and playing badminton and squash again etc.. and he managed to break a tendon in the other leg playing badminton, operation later and he is off work again with leg in plaster.. he was stopped a few days before he did his leg, at 112 etc..
So although the speeding is self inflicted you gotta feel sorry for the guy..
