Driving into work this morning the heater went freezing cold. Steam coming out from under the bonnet, temperature gague up to maximum. Radiator had dumped everything. Gutted. Pulled over and called Direct Line Rescue. They came out and took me and the Scoob to the garage I bought it from. They were pretty good, said they would sort it out and gave me a courtesy car. Toyota Corrolla Estate (smells of p*ss). Doubley gutted!!! Just hope they can sort mine out quickly!!!

I blew my rad about a month ago. After a rather spirited drive I stopped and saw steam coming out of the front! I got a recon rad for about £160 i think. Fitted by my regular Subaru dealer.
the rad was on it's way out anyway, As I had noticed the level dropping and one time got cold air when the heater was on hot.

Nimbus,
How is your car mate?
I am catching you slowly with miles (well depending on how many you have done since I last spoke to you of course) clicked over to 110,000miles last night.

Think the garage are gonna sort it for free as I have only had the car about 8 weeks. It's a import (1993) so not brand new!! Radiator was prob knackard when I got it. If they try charging, they will have a fight on their hands as I have already spent nearly £1000 on sorting othr stuff that should have been done!!

Nimbus,
Worked out that I might be at about 125,000miles by next Spring when the bike comes back out of the garage for the year so I am not likely to catch for a few years yet then.. if ever..

I know! The car is going as soon as I get everything sorted (won't sell a nail to anyone..... maybe too honest!) Need to be sensible. Just can't decide what I really want instead though. Will only have about 2k to spend

2k... I would suggest a Mark 1 MR2 but sounds like you need more than 2seats soon..
Just spent 2.9k on a lovely Corsa CDX for the wife.. but not exactly sporty.. despite the 1.4 16v engine..
Goodluck anyways
