Most of the posts on SN had clearly tried and convicted Leslie by 4pm yesterday afternoon, despite the fact that there's not one shred of evidence yet that Ulrika was actually raped (let alone who the assailant might or might not have been).

The guy's history - which is a shame, 'cos I rather liked him.

I don't have a full understanding of the story, as none of us really do, but didn't she go out with him for a while? Surely she wouldn't have gone out with him after he raped her?

Innocent until proven guilty, shame no one takes any notice of that anymore.

Sure, there are people in relationships that have been raped by their partner, but wasn't her relationship with him some time later? I'm not saying he couldn't possibly have done it or whatever, but I just can't get my head around it. Maybe she's just a dozy cow?

Trial by Media. I ain't even gonna follow the story as this endorses the medias behaviour. Nice to see Capital FM and the BBC refusing to use any names in their reports.

Lets hope that he comes through it and then plants some massive libel cases on these backstreet hacks.

First thing any half decent barrister is going to do is run the argument that JL can no longer receive a fair trial and the proceedings are an abuse of the process of the court and should be stayed.

If they are, then perhaps the Sun, the Mirror et al will learn a ******* lesson. The one they did not learn with the original Lee Bowyer trial.

If what is being claimed to have happened actually did, surely the victim would have gone to the police and reported the incident? Call me a sceptic, but why would you wait unitl years later to tell of this event. Oh hang on a minute. The hot question this week has been "who is he?" It's seen a few long threads on here, too. So now the tabloids tell you and it's suddenly trial by media! Make your minds up!

Clearly, the Great British Public are more interested in celeb rape gossip than they are about minor issues like education or the fire service.

We have the media we deserve. If you don't like it, don't read it and it will stop very quickly. Media is business and has very little to do with what is right or wrong, or the law. It tells you what you want to know - simple as that.

Apologies for any offence, but let's get real here. It ain't nothing new.
