Mobile phones......anyone on line advance?
#1
Have been on it for 4 years.Currently costs me £70 per year one-off payment and i get something like 90 mins free calls per month, any hours(On O2).
Is this a good deal?
I'm thinking of getting a newer, smaller phone, but if i want to stay on it i may have to buy a new phone for the full price and just transfer my sim card.

Have you checked with O2 about an upgrade? I'm on the same kind of deal as you and got an upgrade to a Nokia 3330 for £20 last year (when it was fairly new on the market) and could have got something slightly less up to date free. Only requirement seemed to be that you hadn't had an upgrade for at least a year.

I have been on BT Cellnet (now O2) line advance for about 4/5 years.
Line Advance is no longer available for new customers. O2 are only honouring the line advance packages to existing customers as about 35% of their customers are on Line Advance. I was told this recently by a Link Regional Manager.
If you left O2 and tried to open a new account they would only offer you pay per month plans as O2 lose so much money via Line Advance.

Thanks for the replies.
Darren,i was told the same thing yesterday in the Carphone warehouse, hence my reluctance to give it up.I've also asked about an upgrade, apparently there is a choice of 4 phones.
Is £70 per year for 90mins free calls/month,anyhours,a good deal?.Some months i go over, but not by much.
