The man charged with giving false information to police after Franklin's shooting was arraigned Monday in Fairfax County, Virginia and denied bond. Matthew Dowdy, 37, claimed to have seen a man with a gun just before the shooting and also told police he saw a cream-colored van with a malfunctioning taillight. If convicted, he faces up to six months in prison and a $1,000 fine.

It amazes me this guy is still doing it, he obviously wants to be caught, he is that good (not that i condone his actions in anyway)
one shot every time and he always makes a clean getaway,and even leaves cryptic mesages for plod and the FBI/CIA and then they ask him on TV to get in touch again as they werent too sure about his notes!!
He could stop now for 6 months and start again and Americas finest would still be none the wiser, but he continues to do it, I can only assume he wants the notorioty of going down in History for being the guy that took the p1ss out of America for over a month and has embarresed the authorities to boot

Most of these kinds of nutters do it for notoriety, and to try and show their superiority over the authorities. So far this guy appears to be proving his superiority pretty well.

good point could even be working on the case??, that would really upset the public, is the death penalty recognised in Virginia?? could be interesting if he keeps clocking up bodies and they dont have the death pen
