Yup,used to Autotest myself in a mini - started off with my then road car and ultimately built a Special.

Have a look here

http://www.aswmc.org.uk/autotest.htm

and here

http://www.ukmotorsport.com/uk_govern.html

for info. You will need a clubman/nationalB licence.

If you can get along to a test, have a chat with those competing, although season drawing to a close.

Feel free to post any questions, and I'll try to help

Wink

I've got a box of autotest trophies in the loft from my motor club days.

License isnt necessary. Approach your local motor club (see RACMSA web site for list of local clubs). Go along and have a chat with people - most clubs run an autotest championship cos its cheap and fun.

Great way to learn car control and see some real pro's...

Sorry,

Should have qualified that. Licence is not necessary if you only want to do closed club events.

I did several years of autotesting in a Mk2 Escort - probably some of the most enjoyable times I've had. With practice you can really get some good car control nailed. Definitely join your local motor club and give it a go. Start on grass and move onto tarmac.

Just out of interest, anyone been a member of Bexley Light Car Club in years gone by?

In fact, as I sit here I have two pictures of the car on a test on the wall in front of me, from about 1984 I think. Sigh...
