new poll - the best guitar band...

No dance music... (or Beatles)
You know the sort of thing - two guitars, bass, drums and vocals..
for me it has o be the Beachboys. Early stuff like Little Deus Coupe and God Only Knows and All Summer Long for starters

Easy
NIRVANA!!
I listen to their music most days, especially a lot of the live bootleg stuff, absolutely electric always makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck.
They persuaded a lot of people to pick up a guitar and play (me included) and their music is so simple, catchy and... perfect
Me a freak? Never

Queensryche
Savatage
Helloween
Metallica
Accept
UDO
Mororhead
Heart
Alice Cooper
Deep Purple
Def Leppard

The Damned (spot the odd man out)
Seen all of the above plus many more.
Yngwie Malmsteen is the daddy though. Who needs a second guitarist when he's around. Very under rated.

Like nearly all the bands mentioned so far
Got to mention Van Halen though - Eddie determined the sound of every rock guitarist that followed.
UFO with Schenker were pretty good too
And Neil Schon from Journey is a great guitarist.....
......Bruce Springsteen........ the list goes on

Good examples
The Clash - White Man in the Hammersmith Palais
The Only Ones - Another Girl, Another Planet
The Who - Baba O'Reilly
Van Halen - Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love.
Bad examples: Anything by The Alarm, Uriah Heep, or The Tygers of Pan Tang. And the less said about Venom the better.
bros
edited cos I forgot Van Halen

Uncle Buck
Spelling never was my strong point, could you do better after a few beers and typing whilst eating a spam sandwich, crisps and pickled onions
Oh, and I've got the fold out Vixen poster too.
