My God - is Yngwie still going? Couldn't leave Skid Row off the list. Message for Seb Bach if he's on here anywhere: I need to copulate with you urgently.

Spinal Tap

Well maybe not....

Seriously,

Jerry Cantrell / Alice In Chains - some very nice haunting melodies.
Slayer - King and Hanneman are nuts!
Van Halen - Nuff said
Randy Rhoads - Inspirational

Many more, but those are amongst my faves

Yngwie played in Dudley earlier this year.

Now I am showing my age. As a young lad, I saw Cream with Clapton/Bruce/Baker, then also saw Wishbone Ash twice and a bit later Lynard Skinnard. These 3 groups were unbelievable guitar wise.

Iggy and the Stooges, specifically the fabulous raw power.

Joy Division

Stones

the Clash: should be there but there is something not quite right about them and their music, it is good but consistently misses the mark by the tinyiest margin. Hard to pinpoint why exactly.
