Should be staying in the Oakley Court Moathouse for a few nights towards the end of the month. Want somewhere nice to take the g/f thats not too far so we can get a taxi and I can drink. Not to pricey but not to plain - something candlelit and romantic would be good.

Cheers 12Lee.

Do you know what Oakley Court is like? Looks pretty good from the pics Ive seen - converted castle. The g/f is getting us staff rates at £30 a night so cant complain either way.

At £30/night you're getting a *bargain*. It's v.v.nice when you're paying corporate rate. V.popular with well to do types that go to Ascot for the geegees.

I think you're in for a nice couple of days.

Yeah I see on the website its normally £120+ a night. The g/f used to work for a hotel booking firm and still gets staff rates. Only prob is you can only confirm the booking 7 days before the date but hey for £30 a night thats nothing to be worried about.

Will check out both those restaurant tips.

Theres a wicked Greek place up by the castle, on the same side of the road. Food was awesome. Theres also the best curry house i have ever been to called the Spice Rack thats in the alley down a small flight of stairs on Castle Hill close to McDonalds (next to a pub).

Cool

P1F,

Oakley Court is where they filmed "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" so I've been told by the g/f.

Cool!

I was going to suggest the **** Pit on Eton high street, but I just done a search and it looks like its now a Italian. Once was an excellent english restaurant, so no use to you. Sorry

Thumbs up

Charlies Horse is great if you like Mexican food. OK it's not candle lit/full on romantic, but is certainly superb for food and price.

It's only a couple of minutes walk from the town centre, and is near to Shooters if you need any help finding it.

Went to the Yang Tze chinese in the end as couldnt resist the allure of all you can eat chinese for only £12.50 - was very nice as well.

Some nice shops in Windsor. Liked the Cinnamon Cafe coffe shop and that cigar shop by the train station/costa coffee/cinnamon cafe etc - called Havana something or other. Bought the girlfriend a petrol coloured Zippo from there and was tempted to get my dad a huge cuban for Xmas.
