Just picked the Scoob up from Welch's and headed south to Join the M11 at Junction 10 in order to drive back up A14/Cambridge. Was doing about 90 behind 3-4 cars when we all saw a white unmarked van over Juntion 11 with a camera over each lane. We all hit the brakes but no idea if we/I got caught so have the next two weeks to dread checking the post every morning.
Then another junction along there was a Police Volvo Estate again sitting over the M11 Northbound with what looked like a tripod and camera sat on the roof.
Reckon Ill be lucky if I get nothing from both of these. Anyone else seen them today? Annoying thing is I only went down today as I got back too late yesterday to pick the car up.
Simon.

They have been there all last week as well. It is a Police van. It says Police Camera van on the side.
As it has been ther for so long I am wondering if they are cenus cammeras.
A while ago on the A14 they had these cammers there which took pictures of number plates and then sent a letter to the owner asking if they would say what they were doing, where they were going and how many people in the car.
Anyway fingers crossed you don't get caught.

Came up that way on the bike on Monday morning and didn't see anything... bu99er... but then I did check the bridges and there was a couple of parked cars but not a van or a volvo so hopefully I was before they were set up..
hope you managed to avoid getting caught...
Must fit the radar detector on the bike..
I know it is illegal to speed but the motorways are one of the safest roads and I so often see Police vehicles speeding.. makes me sick!

A few people have said the one with the two cameras is doing some census survey stuff. Will just have to wait about the other one. Luckily I have no points as yet and my ins should be out of the way before I receive any etc. Fingers firmly crossed.

Are the government crazy?, these cameras do more damage than good, everybody is so twitchy now on UK roads that we are breaking all the time at the slightest thing.

Jacey,
Very true.. I dunno how many times I have seen people brake hard seeing workmen cutting the grass in luminous jackets on the motorway and then realise they were only doing 75mph in the first place.
Why they don't just fit speed limiters and then senders in road signs I don't know... oh yes I do because then how would they replace the income they get from speeding?!

This whole country is getting just to bad to live in now, I feel sorry for first time property buyers who cant even buy a flat for under £100K.
My plan is to leave to some other nice country in the next few years, prob Cape Town where I can transfer my £180K house into 2.7M Rand!

It is getting silly... my sister just sold her bedsit for 60k..
she paid 30k a few years back, but she had to pay 90k for a 2bed mid terrace in a not good area too!!
I couldn't afford my own house if I was buying it now..
stupid..
