Just been watching Trev on ITV doing an expose on chicken nuggets, etc. Undercover rep got a job at a processing plant.
I will never ever eat another chicken nugget or dipper as long as i live - they say what you do not know cannot hurt you, may be wel be true.
Undercover reporter gets job, no basic hygene training, did not even wash his hands nor did the supervisor when showing him round
Picking nugggets and dippers off of the floor and putting them back in bags or back onto the production line
the place was filthy! food all over the floor
He broke open uncooked nugget open and it lloked like paste of some sort.
Who was this food destined for - Fecking ICELAND freezer centres
Finger lickin' chicken my ar$e!

If you buy cheap, low quality food then this is what you must expect!
Years ago, when I was a poor student I had a summer job in factory that made the sarnies you get in service stations, Boots, etc. The general level of the (full-time) employees was your mullet haired trash who didn't give a fukc about their own personal hygiene - never mind their work's hygiene.
I saw some of these scum spitting snot into food, sneezing into it and chucking items of food at each other which would then end up in Mr or Mrs X's lunch the next day!
I NEVER eat any of these pre-packed tasties, and would advise anyone else not to!!
Happy eating, folks!

Oh yeah, if I go in Iceland and see 40 ! chicken nuggets for 99 p I smell a rat, people want cheap food so they make it.
Basically I dont think that we could feed the population if we only ate the good bits off whatever animals we rear and kill for food, it may offend your sensibilities but what do you think has gone on throughout history, we eat everything, just nowadays we muck about with it and make it more pallatable.
Our bodies will process and get energy from pretty much anything we put into them, its personal choice and to some extent based on income but I dont think they will kill you, if you can afford to just eat the good bits, do so, if not eat nuggets, sausages, beefburgers cos its all crap.
I seem to remember the same thing about sausages about 10 years ago and they became public enemy no 1 for a few months and then people went back to them cos theyre cheap and taste wonderfull, dont be so bloody precious whack it down you, the population is living to bloody long anyway.
I still wuldnteat a donner kebab sober though......

I have to echo the comments already made on this thread - good food costs. There is a difference between a £2 chicken and a £9 organic chicken - and it goes beyond how the animal is treated. But most people do not care about the quality of food they buy. The care about the bottom line - cost and quantity. People do not think ( and do not want to think) long term. Stuff your face with cheap food today and worry about the consequences sometime way off in in the future.

Most food safety officers won't eat in restaurants because of what they see.
Thing is, a few germs & bacteria are good for the system, it gives your immune system a work out. Many scientists now believe that the huge increases in asthma & eczema are partly caused by children being brought up in sterile conditions thanks to modern cleaning products. With nothing to do, the immune system becomes hypersensitive or turns on itself.
I agree about eating a kebab sober though.

There was a big article in the Mail a few weeks ago about the nuggets, and the stuff inside them is compressed chicken skin from what is left from the carcuss. Not a big fan of Nuggets anyway, so it doesn't bother me, but I will never eat any ever again.
As for Kebabs, who knows exactly how they are made?

Worked for Trebor making soft mints when I was at Uni and so I know what goes on.. and it is everywhere!
But you need to keep your immune system working on something else the first bit of dodgy food you taste will be your last meal!
Although I do hate finding hairs in my service station sandwiches!

I eat Kebabs sober all the time....
I find it amazing how many Kebab sellers try and get away with handing you the wrong change, change for a 10pound note when I gave him a 20 last time was not funny.. if I had been pi$$ would I have noticed? does this explain why after a night out drinking my pockets are always empty?

Hmm Ronalds finest chicken nuggets with bbq sauce Never by Iceland nuggets or the really cheap brands as they do taste crap.
Had a KFC last night and the hot wings were pukka. TBH you hear this **** all the time. For all you know anyone can do this. Ive seen programs where top restaurants drop stuff and then use it again. Who gives a **** if it tastes good?

i eat them sober all the time too + i always haggle over the price anyway especially when i just buy donner meat on its own they try to charge me £3.00 for it when it costs £3.50 for donner meat, 2 x 1/4 lb burgers breadbun salad and sauce, so i tell him to go think again and give him £2 instead

I worked in a meat products factory as a student and what used to amaze me was the low standard of hygene these people had.. But then how many of them bought the same stuff in the staff shop for them and their families! Go figure...

I went to a BBQ a few weeks ago with some friends. On the side of the burger box it said
"This product contains mechanically re-claimed meat and meat derivatives"
mmmmmmm, delicious....
