Just come back from France on one of these beauties. They fly!
Normally to St Malo from Portsmouth - 13 hours outward, 9 hours inward. On this, 5 hours and that includes a stop in either Jersey or Guernsey!
They do about 41 knots full chat - dunno what this is in mph, but it felt fast.
(Plus you get proper duty free coz they stop in the channel islands )

Actually they're about 29,500 hp, roughly, assuming it's the smaller (75ft) Incat with the Ruston 16RK270 marine diesels. If it's one of the larger models with 20RK's it's nearly 38,000hp @ 1030rpm. Talk about low-end grunt
Although max speed is around 41 knots, service speed is 37 or 38 knots, about 43mph.

Anyone remember the story about the mad scouser on a Jet Ski that decided to aim between the hulls of a Sea Cat ferry out of Holyhead ?
