It's a common problem with 8210s - we had it happen on four of ours. It'll be cheaper to get a new handset.

Think this was common of the earlier 8210's. We had all our office ones replaced under warranty. The newer ones have been holding up good since

If you go to a Nokia Service centre it should cost you about £10. There is a conductive strip that often detaches itself from the screen. If the strip isn't touching you get no picture. 5min job I've been told.

An original Nokia screen is in the region of £50. I bought one off e-bay for £14. Lasted a couple of months before having to have a new "elastiimer" fitted (£5). If the elastimer is damaged the LCD screen normally works fine with the front facia removed.

Edited to say that if the phone is less than 12 months old your local Nokia service centre will repair free of charge, no questions asked.

Mike

I have had this replaced about 10 times on my 8850 have yet to pay for it, Finally an insurance policy from dixons/theLink pays for itself,
