Josh Winks question....

In his classic tune 'A Higher State of Conciousness' what is the lead instrument?
As far as I know it's a Roland TB-303 Bassline. University Challenge on the other hand claim it's a Moog Synthesiser?!
So who's right?

difficult to say ub. a decent synth (like the later Moogs) could emulate TB303's anyway. the sound seems to have too much complexity for a TB303.
the hi-hats definately a TR909 though but you knew that anyway.
have you tried steinberg's rebirth?

Yea, you may be right, but I don't think it sounds like a Moog - which one anyway? There are loads.
It's when it goes right up high it sounds most 303ish. never heard a Moog do that, but I suppose it could. Could be a Novation Bass Station maybe??
Yep, I've played with Rebirth - quite cool but I have an MC-303 Groovebox which *is* cool Best 125 quid I ever spent

hmm..
A music forum I read thinks different... but still Roland gear of the same era
"I was always pretty convinced it was a 303, but a little look about the web suggests it was actually the 303's little brother, the MC-202"
Either way University Challenge is wrong
