Irag - To bomb or not?

Anyone else feel that we seem to be rushing headlong into a war with Iraq that is ill-advised just because George W's popularity has taken a dip and he needs to bomb some people with darker skins?

What about the people that died in Warrington and Manchester? Even if the people responsible for this were caught they'd be out again by now? Is justice ever really attained?
Shouldn't we be looking a little closer to home first?

I live next door to the RAF largest stores in Europe (maybe the world for all I know) and the sudden level of activity is astonishing.
Have no doubt guys, the decision has already been made and preparations are already well underway.

.. and the increase in "large" aircraft flying into a certain base around my way in the evenings and overnight is a bit of a giveaway also ...

We will be fcuked whatever happens, if we don't bomb then they (terrorists and the states who sponsor them including Iraq) will continue to terrorise the western world and eventually will crash a plane into a nuclear power plant (allegedly this was the original plan b4 they changed it to the twin towers). If we do bomb/declare war on them we take out a large number of the scum but will only scratch the surface of a world wide network and wont stop them.
I think bomb Saddam anyway not because of oil or because of Sept 11th but because they should finish the job off they started in 1992 and never finished. He is a major influence in winding up the Arab League and has even got support from their bitter enemies the Iranians! Its time to end his reign of terror and get the Iraqi people a democratic leadership instead of the dictatorship they have at the moment. Afghanistan is not exactly perfect with its current leadership but its infinately better than the previous bunch of terrorist tw@ts that ran it before. It will only be a start but will be better than doing nothing.
If it goes to full blown war and escalates to WW3 the first sign of reserves being needed I will signup and go and fight, will be better than sitting in an office in London watching the world fall apart and having terrorist bombs blowing up all around me every day! As it is everytime a plane flies past Canary Wharf everyone in the street looks up and watches it. Its a fooking nightmare!
And while we are about it the Government should be expelling the scum in this country supporting the terrorist movement. What the **** is the leader (the one with the hook for a right hand) of Finsbury Park mosque (and all his henchmen) still doing in this country when he has known links to Al Quaeda and stands at Islamic meetings shouting death to Britain. FFS this bloke should either be expelled from the country or shot. Personally i'm all up for someone shooting him! Surprised someone hasn't already. Perhaps the press need to do somemore digging on him and create some more publicity on the w@nker. I know MI5 will be watching him like a hawk but is that good eneough to let him reside in this country organising terror. MI5 wont find out **** from him so they are wasting their time This Government needs to stop ***** footing about and doing some real work and sorting out terrorists in this country as well as dealing with terrorism abroad.
<Prepared to be shot down in flames for my opinion!>
Oh and to add - that apparently Tony Blair was recently handed a long list of known nationals who have proven links to Al Quaeda and was asked to do something about it and he dismissed the list as nonsense and put it down to sensationalism! What a total ignorant **** for a leader! Let the terrorists run amock in our country while he goes and sucks Bush's ****

I remember watching a program on tele about 4 years ago, these American nutters had moved out into the desert and had started this apocolyptic cult saying that the world would end in 2003, they were so convinced it was funny, the interviewer said, so when I come back in 2003 and laugh at you, you will hang your head in shame, they said you wouldnt be able to coz the world would have ended. Starting to make me think they were right after all!

Surely we need to do something to get rid of the leaders and terrorists rather than killing citizens who also suffer under the aforementioned groups?

Put it like this if they flew a plane into Sellafield, depending on the wind direction the nuclear fall out would take out all of Britain and most of France and Germany and Holland at least. Now when u add other planes into other plants world wide what terrorist organisation needs nuclear weapons? They don't, they are all sitting on the ground ready to be exploited
And don't kid yourself into they wont do it cos they will, and we do not have military aircraft flying round protecting the plants, there would be nothing to stop them once in the vicinity!
Sounds like scaremongering but i'm afraid its a real possibilty and one the terrorists have had in their minds for a very long time.

I missed it unfortunately, anyone have it on video? Sounds like the normal bullsh!t tho where no one stands up and says the truth or concentrates on the important bits! I probably would have been thrown out for bringing up anything important!

neutralising the Iraqi threat is the only way to go in the short term... but a sustained conflict is what we should be aiming for, not a 'let's see if we can win it in 30 seconds approach'.
Long term (and I can't believe I'm saying this!) the west needs to try and get away from a natural product dependancy, be it Gas, Oil etc.
Take Oil for example, without it the Middle East would be too busy trying to keep it's premiers in Bentley's to worry about what the west was doing. If we can become independant of Middle East reserves, we take away ALL of their power...
Just all IMO of course.

Agreed they can't let things carry on in the middle east the way it is...
... but, when is America going to start taking a closer look at itself for all the terrorism it has sponsored over the years.. IRA etc...??? And who is going to get them too???? Just a thought...

IF it is so bad in the middle east,,, why is it that only England and the good old USA see it that way?? Who made this country the policeman for the world? Why don't we sort our own **** first and let some other country get it's soldiers killed as part of a world crusade...

Agree with sorting out issues closer to home as well as this however this should not detract from international 'problems' or other threats as and when they arise.

Surely if the US, who hold stockpiles of weapons of mass destruction, is threatening to make a pre-emptive strike against a sovreign country (Iraq), then that country should be able to ask for UN resolution support to defend itself?

Yeah but the point is the way things are going, we wont have a home to look at before long, better to preserve our current state and sort it out after, than ignore the outside and then get obliterated by terrorist scum bags who want to see the end of Britain and the US.
Put it like this, Bush and Blair must have some pretty firm evidence to make plans for a strike because they know damn well the rest of the world and the UN will be on their backs over this. I would say watch the news and see what develops, this is not sabre rattling, something major is on the cards IMHO.

I was told last night - "We did nothing in 1938, and look what happened!" (ie WW2)
So Hitler Mk2 is going to get it one way or another. And they wont use nukes I dont reckon, for fear of the thousands that would come pouring back at them
Its better to give than recieve
