They are out to get us, the old bill

Just a warning to you all,
My g/fs brother was caught last night by the boys in blue on the A41 with a mobile gun.
He was doing 3-4 mph over the limit but its still going to court and the pig *ahem* police officer said it was likely a 2 month ban because they are cracking down on speeding in cheshire. Now it could be cop BS and lies, but peeps be careful.

If there are magistrates out there prepared to ban people for 3-4 mph over, then the judicial system needs a complete overhaul.
It'll more likely be 3 points and a small fine. Still sucks, though.

Same where I live (just outside Oxford) have seen a lot more bobbies around recently. I drove home from work at lunch time today and saw one poking out the side of a bush with a speed gun and his mate hiding further behind him also in the bush...Lucky I was in my mums metro which I find hard to reach the speed limit in let alone break it ! I couldn't stop laughing...Would have been a different story if I'd been caught...

If he was doing 3 mph over the limit, he will not get charged. If he really was only 4 mph over, there is a lot that he can do to get off. However, if he was doing much more, he should plead guilty.
If he really was only 3-4 mph over, which will be stated on the NIP, then he should ask for all the test certificates of the gun and full details of the training the officer has received. Make sure to ask when the copper last had refresher training. If you ask for enough reasonable stuff, it is such a pain for them that for such a small amount over, they are likely to drop the charges.
I have personally done this and in my case, I said I was pleading not guilty, although I had every intention of changing that if they went to trial.Turned out that they were also calling my bluff and didn't want to have the validity of their camara and police training examined. Their lawyer approached me and asked if I still intended to plead not guilty and question the validity of their reading. I said yes and after some discussion, they decided to offer no evidence and the magistrate chucked it out.
