...how safe is it, and what would be my cheapest option?

Anyone please?

I have used the car-park at the front of the airport many times with no problems. I suppose you could be unlucky no matter which one you pick.
It is expensive though - car parking has cost more than flights to Belfast on occasion.

I've parked in the main car park last year when I flew out to IoM for a day for work.

I was concerned about the amount of broken glass in places, although my 206 GTI survived the day. Wouldn't be keen on leaving a Scoob there though. Didn't seem to be much CCTV at that time, although it was a building site still.

It is quite expensive: cost us £32 to leave a tatty van in the car park for 4 days last weekend. Several Scoobs in the car park, (no doubt going to the Manx like us), some nice cars as well .

Seems safe enough though: parents leave their Range Rover around 4 times a year for week long periods. No problems so far.

As mentioned, you can be unlucky no matter where you park.

Can't you borrow a work car. That way everybody's car in the car park would be ok.

I would never leave my car in an airport/station car park for a prolonged period.

When i went over to NI to do some work there was a new shape scoob in one of the carparks at the airport, it was still there when i got back (3 days later) and they do have security guards walking round checking all the cars

A lot of the locals have good security measures in place to make sure their cars don't get nicked, you should follow their lead:

Take the wheels off your car and leave your car on blocks

Remove the stereo leaving nothing but a bunch of tatty wiring

Remove all glass

Spray paint Wacker waz ere up the side of your car.

Beleive me, no one will go near your car if you follow my advice

calm down, eh la?
