Whilst very sweet, Kittens can wear you out, trying to keep an eye on these pesky little beggers is a full time job.
Itchy...
...and scratchy
These two were living in a horse box and were in a bit of a mess Very cute though...

Just found out that my Nans cat died a few weeks back (she didn't tell us because she didn't want to upset my parents holiday ) She has had it pretty rough recently because my Grandad (her husband) died a few months ago and now her cat died very suddenly for some mad reason We are trying to see where she can get a kitten to keep her company again but apparently she is having no luck Does anyone please have any genuine suggestions? If you are a cat hater or p1ss taker please don't reply because I am not in the mood. It has been a sh1tty year and I just want to see her happy (as can be) again.
Thanks for your time

Would a slightly older cat not be better? Kitten's are a right pain in the **** sometimes, and take a lot of looking after, so maybe an older cat from the RSPCA or something might be a better option?

are there any animal welfare shelters in your area? We got our cat from one, she was two years old and is the cutest, non violent animal ever and adores human company.
Kittens are a little harder to get cos everyone wants a cute kitten.

Theres always the local Cat Protection League or get hold of a copy of the local Freeads. Thats what we did but be aware that it came out on Thursday and by 0930h Thu AM almost all of the kittens had gone.

WOW
Thanks for the replies Don't know if there is a shelter near or if she would even wants a cat instead of a kitten. A kitten may take looking after but that would keep her busy and she is very active and well so that is not a problem I haven't actually spoken to her about it yet (My mum told me about it ) I just didn't know where to get kittens these days. You used to see them everywhere. Thanks for the replies and help and you have all given me something to think about

Your local vet can usually put you in touch with either your local Cat's Protection League or Cat Shelter or RSPCA, because these groups usually advertise in the local vets.
Also it's not too far for your there is the big RSPCA place in Chobham which have lovely animals needing homes.
I suggest you start with the Vet and also would recommend probably an adult cat for your nan that fairly relaxed. If you can find the right group then take your nan with you, the right cat will choose her, make no mistake.
I've had six cats (yes all at once - all from various cat protection places and I've had no trouble settling any of them in)
Good luck and I hope things get better for your nan.

I'm glad she's got herself a kitten at least it will keep her busy, sorry about my ident, comes from the fact that all six of my cats were black, so's my scoob and every other car I've owned, felt it appropriate given the history.
Hope you feel better too, you sound a bit down as well - your nan is very lucky to have such a caring grandson - most wouldn't give a toss.
Take care

Yes she seems very happy at having a kitten. They just came to my work with him and he is very cute I take all things like this very seriously and I try and look after everyone (It's the way I am) and I also love cats alot. Yes I am down at the moment but I am sure that will pass.
Thanks for your kind words it makes me feel better
Paul
p.s this kitten is a ringer for her old cat how spooky is that? he is all black which isn't odd but has a tiny patch of white fur in the same place as her other cat did

Paul - excellent news, I'm glad she's found another one
...oh, and you don't waste peoples time at all - after all, it's all "advertising" for rescue centres
Life will get better soon, everyone goes through tough times, sounds like you've got a great family behind you which is good news.
Jen
P.S. yeah -the cat at the bottom is "Ant", he's very cheaky which is excellent as when he first came to us he was *incredibly* shy - he now meows for cuddles, sleeps on the end of the bed and sits on Scoob's drivers seat when I'm cleaning it!

Cats are the don. My two are 17 years old and still bring in mice
V. intelligent too. If one doesent want to be found she climbs into the back of my wardrobe and closes her eyes so she cant see you (she's jet black and her eyes are the only thing you can see in the dark)
Paul, hope you're feeling better soon mate.

Paul, live in Chalfont St. Peter, im around Marlow & that area a lot, got a dark blue scoob.
Got Muppet from the place in CSP, hes a big black dude & is a right nutter. We were going to get 2 kittens, Dillon & Duncan, soooo cute but thought they might be abit of a handful

RichB! They are *so* sweet!
...I only wish we had ours from when they were kittens, although I wouldn't change them for anything (but don't tell them that)...I've had baby puppies, I imagine little cats would be even more of a handful...excellent
