Here it is...One question only

Whats the best XC/urban Steel hardtail frame new or old. Wont need to have rear disk fittings.

Cant stand "GT's" thinking of "Hinde"etc.

Cheers

Luke

How about Kona's '02 Explosif, Reynolds tubing IIRC and that fab kona handling!

Or closer to home, Don't Orange still make a Steel frame?

How good is the "Easton Elite " tubing compared to 7000 series aluminium????????????
Would it be worth changing to a steel??

Steel bikes are defo harder to find nowadays, but I'm not bothered as I can't be doing with them

I know a lot of people who love the ride of a steel bike, especially around town, so if it is a town bike you are after, steel seems to be a good choice.

Of course, being around town, you will need to paint it matt black/brown, put a load of bodge tape on it, fit crappy canti brakes and totally bottom of the range drivetrain. Either that, or get it nicked.

That wasn't much help was it ?

Ti is what you need. I'm saving and saving for a new Ti frame to run as a singlespeed, but everytime I think I've saved enough, someone brings out a nicer (read more expensive frame).

As a side note/question, anyone running Pace RC31 carbon rigid forks ? Any good ?

Cheers

Ian

Ian.. I've got some RC35's .not rigid but carbon. The rigids are great.
Ukhuskynox.. Which model and how old??

Uncle.. Just hate the look of GT frames.

Still thinking about a "Cove Stiffie" or "David Hinde"

Still not sure why I want to change from the Kona..AH ah. I thought i would take this frame to hell with me!!

Luke surely you should have posted this in the new Mountain Bike forum strangely named 'Sports' - non-motor related sports. LOL
