Depends what you want really.
Bluewater is meant to be the more 'trendy' of the two, with more designer places, you won't find argos or bestby in Bluewater.
Lakeside is good though, have spent many hours there over the years, mainly in Thatz Entertainment in Bromptom Walk
To be honest, my personal choice would be bluewater, simply because I like the design and 'feel' of the place.
Do agree with the retail park side of Lakeside though, and yes, I am a bit of an Ikea man
As said, lakey for normal shopping, bluey for nice clothes shopping and *ahem* viewing
Nothing to do with me being some posh git, I just like it more.

Bluewater. Definitely. It's got better shops, with less walking and more parking. Oh, and the food places are better.
If you get there before the lunchtime rush, be sure to eat at John Lewis's 'Place to Eat'. YUM!

I would say Bluewater cos i can walk there but its only really good for clothes shopping etc, Lakeside has more retail shops in the surrounding area
Bluewater is a bit of class really, you won't find an Argos or C&A just a shame its near Dartford.

Bluewater gets my vote too..
Walk round and round rather then up and down etc...
Haven't been to Lakeside since Bluewater openned.
Also I don;t have to use the Dartford Tunnel to get to Bluewater so it is cheaper to visit Bluewater for me.

Bluewater for clothes.
Lakeside for general and especially Xmas shopping
Lakeside has the added benefit of Ikea nearby too
Bluewater is nearer to me, but I prefer Lakeside

Being another local (just down the road from Scott - bet you didn't realise that M8 ) have to go with bluewater for the shopping centre.
Lakeside has two bonuses - it is open till ten o'clock weekdays and it's empty then, so no probs with people everywhere, and it has a large retail park attached. So you can buy furniture, go to Dixons and then Halfords. If you think that is a bonus ???

"Lakeside has the added benefit of Ikea nearby too " - that's really a matter of opinion.
I had the pleasure of meeting Eric Kuhne, the Architect of Bluewater - everything about it is quality not quantity. For example, the car parking spaces are 2.6m wide, not 2.4m. And there's a John Lewis there.

Bluewater for shops, Lakeside for retail park!
Bluewater is lovely and spacious and really well designed (although the top floor car parks turn into skidpans on an icy morning ), TGI fridays is quite nice to eat in...in fact, I think it's my favourite, even over the Trafford Centre in Manchester...
