Front number plates
#1
Motorcycles only have to have a rear reg plate for safety reasons which makes them exempt from forward facing laser-radar that mobile traffic cops are using from road side - M-WAY bridges linked to the camera to send you the bad news in the post. Why do we scooby drivers and other mere mortals have to display them? It smacks of discrimination. Does anyone know why this is the case? Or can we dispose of them legally!!?
Ever hopeful.

It's not discrimination, anyone can buy a bike
I admit to having been through a series of SPECS cams at triple digit speeds with a big cheesy grin on my face on my bike(followed by 2 weeks of bricking it in case there was 1 rear facing camera). For legal reasons, this statement is a complete lie
The law is bikes don't need a front number plate, cars do. Sorry, but you have to display one on your 4 wheeler.

Thanks for your replies. Like the idea of the rapid ejection mechanism!! A tad miffed that bikes get preferential - especially as front plates were necessary in my biker days.
Looks like I'll have to make do with a radar/laser detector for fast roads!

Logical reason is where would you stick a front plate on a sports bike !!!!! If you recall olden days, there was a number plate on the front mudgaurd (like Heartbeat copper's) but that ain't practical.
I know this isn't the "real" reason but thats all i could think off.

Some great ideas!! Wonder how many more we can come up with? - you never know we might just come up with a gem. Prize for the wackiest!!!
Have seen a couple of Scoobs in my area running without front plates - the mouth looks tons better. How do they get away with that I wonder? Shall we start a campaign to exempt Scoobs from the dreaded looks stealer?
Helmets?!!! Now there's an idea - could save on the rollcage and protect from sly cracks round th'old head from Mrs SF for going too fast round bendy roads!!
Cheers
