By chance does anyone know this guy?

Hey all,
Just a quick favour, wondering if anyone knows a Paul Greeny, from the UK?
Perhaps this isnt the best place to ask this, it's just I purchased a cellphone off him via eBay, and although I have paid for the phone (twice as much as its worth actually, PayPal sucks) I have yet to receive a phone or a refund.
Just wondering if anyone knew him and perhaps could convince him to pay up. Could be clutching at straws... tell me if I should bugger off.
Cheers,
Jase

Don't know the bloke but eBay have measures set-up to limit this. Have a look on the eBay site or send them an E-mail explaining your situation. I'm sure they will be able to help.

Yeah, cheers perhaps more info is required However that is all I have! At this stage I don't know a Town/City/Suburb or anything else... simply he lives in the "UK".
I won the auction approximately 4/6 months ago. The payment was performed via PayPal, however for the wrong amount (PayPal use US funds, however didn't explain this on their website. Therefore the transaction, supposedly going though in NZ dollars, was converted to US dollars and cost me a whole heap more). During this confusion, Paul decided to track and return the phone to himself, but also lost his PayPal account therefore could not refund me. He apparently is waiting on a new Credit Card. Apparently it takes a fair while to acquire one in the UK!
Anyhow, we have been in regular contact throughout the last few months, but I refuse to believe that is takes this long get a new Credit Card and to establish a new PayPal account.
A fraud investigation via eBay has been posted... what happens next I don't know.
Anyhow, can someone point me to the best online phone directory for the UK?
Cheers for your assistance,
Jason

Jason,
i have a "192.com" CD-ROM from about five years ago, and just did a search, and sadly there is not ONE SINGLE "paul greeny" in the UK!!! This is based on the electoral role (thus over 18 at the time), so he could still theoretically exist - but as a shadow of a citizen!
Try and search the suggested web-site, for the latest database, but if no result - contact the payment/credit company and stop your payment and demand an investigation!!!

hmmm, well... Because it's been more than 90days since the transaction, further action can not be taken.
I also had no luck via 192.com, but thanks for that anyway.
So basically it looks like I've got to play it out and hope this guy is geniune... or give up and write-off the $$$.
SH*T
Was I suckered or what...
