Hi all

I'm interested in Motorsports but would like to do more marshalling of rallies etc

How does one go getting involved with marshalling of races, rallies?

Thanks

Cool

The Rally Marshall site and The British Motorsports Marshalls Club are probably good places to start or join your local motorsport club and get into it that way. Richard Askew (mod on here) is a rally marshall as are some other scoobyetters.

Join your local motor club. All rallies cry out for marshals, from club events to internationals. There is always a desperate shortage. They do a great job, and without them, we could not compete.

Okay, this is my first attempt at posting a URL so it may go horribly wrong

For a *very* long list of motor clubs, many of which are recognised for organising motor sport events, try http://www.ukmotorsport.com. Hey, even SIDC gets on this list!!!

I'm afraid I don't know of many clubs as far as Suffolk, my club runs sprint meets in Essex (North Weald airfield); I'm also regularly up at Wethersfield airfield for West Essex / Chelmsford events, or Borough 19 motor club events, which includes rally and sprint meetings. For club race meetings, you could try the 750 motor club as well who run events up at Snetterton as well as circuits all over the UK.

Thanks for that Scooby..

Anyone who would like to marshal on rallying events, please email me at paul@rallymarshal.co.uk or pop over to the marshalling forum on my site.

Experience not essential as we can hook you up with some more experienced people if necessary..

Marshalls required - Speyside stages - 31st August

ADMC are running stages 6 and 7 of this year's Speyside Stages.

The info I have so far is that it is the same 2.83 mile stage run twice, the second run starting less than 10 minutes after the first and starts will be a on the minute for first run and on the half minute for the second. All sounds like exceptionally challenging or totally chaotic, but not if we have plenty of marshals. First car is approx. 13.30, so the stage will need to be open 1 hour prior to that. The precise details are not to hand as yet.

If you are interested and able to help, or know others who are, please let me know as soon as possible so that I can plan it out.

If you have already been chased up to help, my apologies for this second request.

I look forward to seeing you all on the day (!).

Regards,

Donald MacKenzie (donald_fiona@breathemail.net)
