Question

We bought some yesterday and they are excellent. I've never seen them before and am curious to know how they work. Whatever you look at through them just comes into focus, it's a bit like a 3D effect. It's quite wierd!

The guy selling them said he was very sceptical at first when his rep showed them to him but was amazed to find they worked. We tested them against some other normal bins and found them far quicker and easier to spot moving objects. You just 'point and see', no fiddling with the focus

Even though Chris is as blind as a bat without glasses and I'm not we both see everything in focus straight away when we look through them

I'm sure there's a very simple explanation

Interesting that Ozzy. I'd agree with some of it, but as simple and cost effective binoculars, I think they are great. We really bought them to have on the narrow boat for checking out other boats, looking down the river etc. Bearing in mind that the average narrow boat is around 60 ft long, I can't see many cases where we would want to look at objects at less than 50 ft in front of us!

Long distance focus was great with a pin sharp image. I'm sure if you paid for the Pentax it would be better, but for £39 these are hard to beat.

Chris,

£39 is a bargain and I'm sure Pentax are hoping to justify buying their much more expensive binos.

It's good that it's your own eyes that adjust to the focus rather than manually doing it all the time. I'm just back from my hols and had a play with some binos whilst watching some skydivers. My sister has pretty bad eyesight without her glasses and I kept having to re-adjust them everytime we handed them to each other

The best binos and scopes I ever used was in the Marines. The hardware we had was awesome. You could see a Gnat's nads from miles away - not that I used them for such perversions of course
