Original Star Wars Figures, have u got any?
#1
Have to admit to being a bit sad...Ive got a 70's at-at as well, without scorch marks I have to say!
But when they re-released the vehicles I bought some that I couldnt afford when I was 5 (1977 was episode 4) cos I wanted to.
So I bought an X and A wing, and a tie fighter - but I DID get an original pilot for the latter - cost me £12 !!!! And I made sure I got pilots for the others as well, but they are new ones. NEARLY also bought a new millenium falcon just a few months back....
And I tell myself, if I need any justification, that my 2 year old boy who calls the at-at a "horsey" will get enjoyment from them.
He's not having my Buzz Lightyear or my remote control Scooby though!!!!!!!

I just checked ebay, and apparently when Star Wars was first released at the cinema, they made 12 action figures. (sounds like your mate's)
The guy on ebay is selling all 12 - boxed and unopened - for $3000.
I think your mate might have been a wee bit hasty looking at that
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1744980182
and here's a link to the Jawa..... (vinyl cape)

After reading the smurfs post it reminded me of my box of original star wars toys which my 4 year old son now plays with. I am sure a little dickie bird told me many moons ago that some of these original figures are worth a fair bit. Anyone know if this is true and if so where/how to find out which ones are valuable so I know which ones my son shouldn't be playing with!

If you've got a Jawa with a cloth coat instead of a plastic one, you're in the money.
Apart from that, unless they're still in the packet, or in prestine condition (with blasters or lightsabre), very little.
Of course if someone else has more up-to-date info please let us know as I've got loads at my mums still that my nephew plays with.

I had heard that the large Bobofet toy is worth over £1,000. (the one with the spy hole that you could look through). And that's without the original wrapping!!!!

I had a Scout Walker until I was 12. Then my secondary school took us on day trip to France and I discovered "french bangers" (not sausages). I blew that sucker to pieces upon my return.

I sold mine when I was younger, stupid thing to do
Anyway, I had a carry case shaped like Darth Vaders' face, that you could put all the figures in. I believe that's worth a bit now...

Den, I can totally remember that! Good call, that's put a big smile on my face.
My favourite Star Wars toy was a cardboard Deathstar. Well, half a Deathstar. It had a mirrored chasm in the middle and a trash compactor with moving walls. I had it for two years before realising the door to the trash compactor actually opened up! Gave the thing a whole new lease of life for a while then. Oh yeah, there was a gun turret on the top with a transparent plastic cover - used to be an excellent escape pod (getting carried away a bit now).
I think it cost my mum about a tenner but it lasted for years. Damn, I loved that magical, cardboard semi-orb.

LOL @ Jodster, good old french bangers, my AT-AT got used in a reconstruction in my back garden of a snow speeder coming in and blowing up an at-at, I packed the thing so full of french bangers it blew about 10 feet in the air and melted the inside of the compartment!
This weekend just gone my mum caught my son playing with the at-at and was horrified to see all the black burn marks and washed it all out and asked me what had happened to it. At least it took nearly 20 years before I had to explain I blew the living day lights out of it. My son found it very authentic!!!

I'd rather not talk about it. I used to have all the Star Wars figurine and ships, including the elusive Jawa. I'm still kicking myself for being a stupid kid and do what all kids do...

apparently it's all the reallt obcsure characters that are worth most - the ones that were in the filsm for nanoseconds...and if they're boxed.....doh!
I got a few weird ones - one of the guards on the sarlaac skiff and emperor's red guard things....

You had to collect the names on the boxes/cases of the figures...... send em off and get stuff that wasn't available in the shops...... the Darth Vader collecters case being one of them.

Have a look on ebay, searching for staw wars etc. Some crazy prices, and original '77 X wing wnet for £100 recenty?
Ive just bought the following, I dont know why, sadness I guess, but they wil only go up in value...
original '76 Xwing Luke - £15
Original '77 Tie Fighter pilot - £10
'85 Xwing (Re release to go with the fils re release) £30 boxed
'85 Tie Fighter as abouve - £20
The '85 re release stuff is cheaper than the '70's stuff, but should keep or increase in value, as I made sure I got boxed ones.
Searching for x wing on ebay fings that even 'blown up' knackered xwings go for a few quid. Maybe you should reclaim those At-Ats from the kids, especialy since its been washed now

Good memories, but then I remember that I don't have my stuff anymore I was another, ooh lets set fire to Luke and watch him burn MUHAHAHA!
Actually, the best thing I had was a 5ft tall blow up Darth Vader punching bag. My dad brought it back from the States for me when the film first came out. It was so cool, but alas that is no more.
Anybody remember the original packs of bubblegum cards. I think there were two sets to collect - red & blue. Nobody I know seems to remember them.
DP.

I remember the Panini (spelling?) sticker album that I had when Return Of The Jedi came out, but not any other cards.
Sort of related, I wonder if you can buy that Star Wars Vector graphics arcade game on Ebay - that was so cool.....

Fantastic to hear I wasn't the only kid who liked burning/blowing up/recreating battles with my star wars toys!
If I remember right, playmobil stuff used to blow up quite nicely too and the figures used to fly miles with a few french bangers underneath them! Can't quite explain what I was trying to recreate with them, no real excuse apart from being bloody destructive I suppose. I remember using french bangers the size of sticks of dynamite
Oh to be young again!

my sister had Greyskull...
Ive still got my Airfix "Flight Deck" game, where you fire a plastic harrier up some nylon line that you fix above the floor level ie. up the stairs is a good one, then when the plane gets to the top it turns round, drops an arrester hook and you have to land it on a supposed Aircraft Carrier deck and catch the bit of string that raises a plastic flap, using a plastic joystick type arrangement
Anyone else played this?? its fab! Hours of fun for all.
