Stick a fork into the spud as it directs heat to the centre and helps it cook quicker.

Easier to nuke it for a couple of mins in the microwave and then crisp it up in the oven.

Edited to say: First comment is in reference to oven cooking - please dont stick a fork in the microwave

Been left to fend for myself this week.

Just crunched my way through a baked jacket spud. Is 45 minutes in the aga too long, or not long enough?

I'm off to the curry house.

Cool

I would be very suprised if Oll actually knew what a microwave was!

Last time his mum went away she even left cooking instructions on the toaster

6 mins in microwave & remove. Rub olive oil onto potato skin. Liberally apply sea salt

Stick it in the oven 180' 45 mins - luvverly crunchy skin, soft & fluffy inside ..

Liberal amounts of smoked salmon & cream cheese is my fav topping.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....drool.....
