Anybody put RainX on a crash helmet visor, although it says not to use on plastics on the bottle?

Is it going to damage my visor?

Recomendations for any other products?

Thanks,

Nick.

Rub your visor all over (in & out) with pure washing up liquid, then rinse off with hot water & let air dry. V hot water is good as it will dry quickly. This leaves a surface of fairy liquid on the visor. Result is that rain comes off quicker & shouldn't mist up inside (unless stationary of course, but then it always does).

Best way for dealing with rain whilst on the move is to just slightly twist your head to the right or left & that side clears straight away. Never rub the visor with your glove as that smears everything... You can sometimes find gloves that have "wiper blades" on the thumbs - well worth it.

Oh & do the rubbing with your fingers, not a cloth as then it won't scratch the visor...

Thanks Puff, i'll give it a go.

Got a "Fogcity" on the inside, so misting is never a problem, just want rain water to disperse quicker on the outside.

I've used rainX on many different visors including Iridium coated ones and had no problems with it. It's the best product i've used for rain dispersal.

depends who you ask...if you ask the guys at Arai they'll tell you it's not good, but then they also say that you shouldn't use fairy liquid on them either and I know of nothing else that keeps rain off better...have been using it for as long as I been riding (14+ years) and the only probs I have with visors is caused by the dodgy fitting system on Arai's...but of course they deny it's anything to do with them....

funny how they changed the system....

so...recommend it to anyone
