Default Garage roller shutter doors

So my new garage will have a door span of about 3 meters, does any one have any experience or pricing about these, good or bad with any company.
The reason im asking is because in my experience you nearly always find someone thats better in every way after youve made your decision and wish you had gone with them.
Hope this makes sense.

I would stay away from those type that advertise on the tv etc and go for a trusted local supplier/installer. Im sure if you google in your area and read reviews you will soon narrow it down.

Well the one I have is crap!

10mm thick so insulation is rubbish. Flimsy so the wind deflects them and if I pushed hard enough I could easily pop it out of the tracks. And a Italian motor with battery powered safety sensors that take expensive bespoke batteries than only last a year! It's only six years old and I'm done with it.

I'm pretty sure they are really continental style shutters (aka persianas in Spain, but also used in France and Germany etc.) that are supposed used INFRONT of patio doors/windows. Not as a garage door.

Replacing it with a Teckentrup sectional.

My next door neighbour has roller shutter door , on some kind remote so he can press button before getting in there to unload van ( works out of it

Seems to have coped with salt here so far here Seaford , and he keeps his Lambo in there too - so must think its pretty secure

he think he did mention door might need replacing after a number of years though , like 4 /5

Just moving from Seaford to Peacehaven ,so the salt is an issue , but having a sealed garage is gonna be a plus point , i take the car to the man for landrovers every year and de salt it on their out side ramp with the steam cleaner, when dry i take it to Stu's for dinitrol top up .

Lockheed, a good friend of mine runs a garage door business and I have had both a single and double span roller door off him. He uses Seceuroglide, which are made to order here in the UK.

An additional question in the thread: will a wooden door be a good decision in such a case? my garage has wooden doors now, and I like them, but I want to enlarge the garage, and the door span will be about 3 meters.
I have chosen these wooden doors with two windows because I liked the looks that fit my house’s design. The windows let sunlight inside the garage and make it look less gloomy. The sunlight also helps to prevent the appearance of mold and other unpleasant things that live in the dark.
But I wonder if it would be a relevant solution for a bigger door span. Won’t’ wood crack or deform because of its own weight?
