Quite interesting! Turns out I'm Ghandi!

I'd have put myself more on the Libertarian right. Perhaps a "neutral" answer rather than either agree or disagree would make a big change for me - there were quite a few questions where I was neither agree or disagree, so in those cases I guess I would tend to the more leftist response which has skewed my results more towards Ghandi.

Have definitely mellowed out a bit.

https://www.politicalcompass.org/you...0.25&soc=-2.56

I think one of the questions about making peace with the establishment as you age definitely applies. Used to have quite a problem dealing with the opinions and methods of people above me at work, for example. Now in a position with more responsibility and having to deal with conflicting interests even more, there isn't much drama from day to day. I think, like with politics, I've just stopped getting worked up about things I can't change.

Seems a common trait that many have veered to the left. Maybe it's a result of 10 years of austerity and right wing politics!

Ideological Subversion

Point to note New Labour was quite far on the right of that compass; Far more so than Pre-Thatcher conservatives. So really could it be the result of 40years of right wing political rule and the hardening/confirmation of the original view about right wing ideologies that cater more for the South East economy. .

I'm just in from you towards the centre, agree totally. Then I watched that documentary on travellers and may be conservative far right now.

it's an interesting one... i'm generally leftie, i guess, believing that people should help other out for the greater good of society etc etc..

HOWEVER, then you have the ****-takers like benefit cheats, people who just don't give a monkeys about green spaces / society in general etc etc... they should be dealt with in a harsh manner IMO to prevent other people doing the same, and stop undermining trust in society.

I might just be a big hypocrite tbh...

That’s puts you towards Authoritarian left: Socialism but with the state making sure nobody takes the ****.

Although that would put you in the ranks of Castro, Mugabe and Authur Scargill

Is it me or is every result always to the Left.... is this really a 'unbiased' poll...?

I don’t know. It’s been going for a long time now. But I do believe when they assess modern politicians they are putting them far more up and right than where they should be. For example modern day tories are being placed more to the right than Thatcherites...really?

I know what you mean though; They have the 2015 onward tories way up on the top right which isn’t right....if we had death penalties, full and total submission to capitalism, zero social care and no national health service with apartheid and full-on facist policies, then there is no space further up and right for that!

So it could well be liberals have hijacked the compass!

Yet Pre-1963 abortion was illegal...doesn’t matter what Mog thinks; The rest of the tories won’t make it illegal again

Like most people on this thread, I'm somewhere in the top right quarter of the green box. It seems we never get the government we actually want, we have to vote for what we consider to be the least bad choice out of of the limited options.
