Default Please someone invent this...

Please someone here invent an arm like gadget that you can put through a letter box and pull the keys out of the door.

I've just had to pay £300 for an 'emergency' call out for a locksmith to drill my lock out and put a new lock in.

Went to get the boy from school and normally take the keys from the front door. As I had keys in my pocket I didn't check and realised when I got home.

Tried twigs, neighbours coat hanger and even another neighbours ladders to double check all windows were locked.

Proper gutted for a stupid mistake.

Over to you guys.

I keep this in my toolbox: https://shop.snapon.com/product/Claw...-Point)/YA837A

Accompanied by a telescopic inspection mirror to guide it.

Usually used to retrieve 13mm sockets, but has many other uses

Such a rip off. No doubt it could have been picked in minutes with the right tools but that doesn't make the locksmith much cash.

As seen on watchdog “drilling” is all part of the show. When you probably could either punch the barrel through, lock snap it or pop a window out of the bead.

Also a reason why I hate those deadlock latches that you have to deadlock on the inside before leaving to lock the inside handle. It’s why I always preferred the old Union drawback locks, which can be deadbolted with the key on either side.

Drilling or snapping is for those that lack any skill, what lock was it?
If I was local I'd have a go, as it's one of my hobbies.

Depends on the lock, some won't allow entry with a key inside.
As for cost, that is a bit extreme but it can take years to be proficient at picking.
