It's because you're an angry man... need to learn to be at peace with the universe.
You should try Yoga or Tai chi... or something else basically you need to teach yourself to relax.
P.S; I bet you frown a lot too... I'm not joking by the way... I used to be like it... angry at the world and literally give myself a headache... took me years to realise... I was doing it to myself.

Are you on medication of some kind? There are quite a few which could cause this as a side-effect.
Edit: If answer to above is no, I would check for hair starting to grow in places you've never had it before. It could be that you're turning into a werewolf (or a possibly a goat, depending on where the hair is)

#3: Anger: probably
#8: medication side effect: probably
Additional probabilities IMO: stress and/or underlying health problem/s.
In one culture, they say that a person with this teeth grinding prob may have worms inside their guts, eating them inside or their food that they consume. I'm not sure how literally correct it is, or if it's a metaphorical prognosis.

Perhaps you have an unconscious issue with the fiction hence grinding your teeth as your endurance mechanism? Perhaps you are one of the people that like facts and figures better than fiction; along with the trainspotting and/or your obsession with mechanical model making etc.?

Do you frown a lot? it could also be due to concentrating or needing new glasses, or it could be the tension caused by the suspense., but I'd or thought that would be more related to reading thrillers.
