Default Insurance write off

Hi all, need some advice, called the the nfu but closed. Had an accident this morning LR discovery TD5 2001, with another car.was told most likely a write off based on the damage I told them. Anyways I know they "pay" the market value minus the £100 excess. question is I pay by instalment s been with them a few years NFU insurance. when they pay out, do they take away the balance left on the policy or can you carry on paying the instalments, and what happens when I get a new car(if I stay with nfu), do I have to have a new policy(so have to pay 2monthly instalments) or will the new car be substituted in the old policy, so only one policy stands. sorry for all the questions, first accident in 20 odd years and it sucks.

My mates just wrote of his car, and i believe he just swapped policy to his new car. What ever price they offer you push for more. And be prepared to search for cars same as yours with high price tag.

Sorry to hear that

Your monthly payments will continue, but they will adjust the amount according to the new vehicle you want insuring

No you don't have to pay what's left on the policy as you're basically paying as you go. If you move to a new car and want to stay with them, just call up tell explain your in the middle of a claim and have it moved to the new car.

Done this twice now
