Hey folks,

Just wondering if anyone has studied at this uni, know anyone that has etc? If so, I'd like to know what your / their thoughts are. It's looking increasingly likely that Hertfodshire uni will be my uni of choice next year, although not 100% yet.

I got a feeling this was plain old Hatfield poly when I was a boy ..

I did a degree in civil/public health engineering there 47 years ago! Then Hatfield Poly. Teaching was OK but a lot to cover in civil engineering and I recall 26 lectures a week. I played a lot of sport there and founded the hockey club which I believe is still going strong. Quite good playing fields on site but I suspect they are now all concreted over with portacabins as they expanded. Obviously not in a position to comment on it's status today but never a mouth watering WOW on the CV. Probably better on science & engneering. What will you be studying?

I was at their sports campus last weekend. The area seemed nice enough although both campuses are quite a distance from the rail line, and more suited to car travel.

Did four years there - Environmental Science. The course was based on the college Lane campus and my halls was on the brand spanking new (at the time) DeHavilland campus.

The DeHav campus has everything you could possibly want bar the student union. College Lane has undergone a lot redevelopment with the 'Forum' building - pretty impressive.

Hatfield is a bit of a dump, wouldnt go out out in town. the new village up the road from the DeHav campus is ok - lived there in my final year.
