Chimay Blue

Chimay Blue
I was in London with a colleague last week, and we decided to have a few drinks in the hotel bar. The drinks 'menu' was extensive, and I encouraged him to try something different recommending some craft beers.
Under the heading of "Trappist Beers" I liked the description of Chimay Blue, so decided to give that a go. The waiter poured the drinks at our table and took the bottles away.
Starting to feel a bit "fuzzy" after the third one, I asked if he would leave the bottle on the table when I ordered the 4th round.
The bottle held 330ml and the feckin thing was 9%! My esteemed colleague has since taken much enjoyment from telling my colleagues that we went out for a beer and after 4 drinks I was mangled!
Aside from its potency - absolutely lovely stuff. £12 a glass though in London, £3.50 a bottle from Asda.

May be I'm just mean - don't answer that - but buggered if I would pay £12 for a small beer, ANYWHERE
Cheers TT

PS. Strong beers are often very sweet?

When I am out with the misses or friends I generally just drink Belgian Beers. Most lager, especially in England, taste like *** in comparison.
