Default Tunes from the attic

Yes, literally. The 'so yesterday........' ones that may sound impactful after many years.

I found this one at random today and thought it was good.

Let's see yours, if any of you fancy sharing it.

If I can be allowed to digress slighting, my family and I were on a short holiday a few weeks ago in County Kerry, we rented a holiday cottage which had an old hi-fi system in the lounge. Cued up on the turntable was Hits 4 from 1986. As my wife and I are kids of the 80's I dusted this off and played back some of the tracks just for the fun of it. It was a weird spur of the moment thing which for me has created a lot of fun memories of that trip.

Record 1 Side 1
1.A-ha - The Sun Always Shines On T.V.
2.Feargal Sharkey - You Little Thief
3.Wham! - I'm Your Man
4.Bangles - Manic Monday
5.Madonna - Borderline
6.Blow Monkeys - Digging Your Scene
7.Belouis Some - Imagination

Record 1 Side 2
1.Diana Ross - Chain Reaction
2.Whitney Houston - How Will I Know
3.Alexander O'Neal - If You Were Here Tonight (Remix)
4.Five Star - System Addict
5.Paul Hardcastle - Don't Waste My Time
6.Whistle - (Nothing Serious) Just Buggin'
7.Full Force - Alice, I Want You Just For Me!

Record 2 Side 2
1.The Damned - Eloise
2.Fine Young Cannibals - Suspicious Minds
3.PIL - Rise
4.Bronski Beat - Hit That Perfect Beat
5.Eurythmics - It's Alright (Baby's Coming Back)
6.Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls
7.Mr. Mister - Kyrie (Edit)

Record 2 Side 2
1.Double - The Captain Of Her Heart
2.Latin Quarter - Radio Africa
3.Mike + The Mechanics - Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)
4.Howard Jones - No One Is To Blame
5.Dee C. Lee - Come Hell Or Waters High
6.Kate Bush - Hounds Of Love
7.Electric Light Orchestra - Calling America

I was the kid of the same time, but in another country. I became acquainted to the 60's onward (and even older) classics (classics to me, anyway) in the 90's when I arrived in this country at a bit over 20 YO. Even then, the music that entertained me and moved me then makes ample sense to me. So many buried memories, like hidden seashells under the sea sands! Not every music of that time essentially brings happy memories to me, but even the sad ones are meaningful, as they're also my seashells.

Some great tunes and their titles posted here.

I have both.

No, I don't have the original of this.

Hey, it's my pleasure, jonc. I was planned to watch some TV tonight but I sacked that plan for listening the posted track titles/watching the youtube vids of the golden oldies. Looking back can be quite a restorative exercise imo.

There was no boundary breaking internet then. Random melodies from the West took so long to be swept to the other side that by the time, they would have gone past their 'sell by' date here. Now they get to watch new James Bond there before it's even released here. Anyroad, this was one of the musical pleasures I learnt about when I was in the Uni in late 80's. I loved it, then! Listening to it again, I feel that I still love it no matter how ancient it is for today:

Another key tune from my 'attic' that unlocks some locked away stuff. Those moments come back to life with the very sound of it....
