Default Airline cockpit policy

Anyone flown recently and noticed cockpit movements?

I've recently flown back from Spain and was surprised to see both pilots on separate occasions leave the cockpit with no temporary cover from the cabin crew.
After recent events I would have thought this was a big no no.

Maybe I'm being paranoid

That's what I would have expected.
I was in an aisle seat, row 4 so had perfect view.
The co pilot spent a good five minutes in the galley making coffee then went for a comfort break. Ten mins later the captain came out with what looked like an iPad to show a member of cabin crew then he went to the loo.

I must admit watching for the pilots waiting to be let back into the cockpit was a tense moment

A stewardess in the cockpit will make no difference if a captain
or FO is suicidally inclined.

Well....... she could open the door to let the other pilot in

And then half a dozen blokes to knock some sense into him!

What sort of a fight do you think a 18yo waif of a stewardess could put up to
a suicidal man, once she had been dealt with there would be no-one to open the door.

The fact is if a pilot wanted to bring a plane down he could.

every airline is different

my brother in law flew to Alderney last week - not only did he sit in the cockpit with the Pilot, but also wore a set of "Cans", so heard all the air traffic control

Fighting for her life, I'm sure she could do something. Long nails, face!

My point is no system is infallible. The use of stewards or stewardesses
in the cockpit is merely a psychological tool.
