Has anybody had a Stem Cell Infusion
If some of you remember back in 2007 I had Hodgkins Lymphona.......Some of you contributed to my Just Giving site back then.............however it came back in 2014 so I had to have a different course of treatment.....I have been clear since Feb 2015 however I still have to have a Stem Cell Infusion - well actually the real name is Bone Marrow Transplant but they don't like to scare nowadays - My question is has any of you gone through it and just how did you get through it..........not really looking forward to 4 weeks plus in hospital and being made unwell to be made well as it is supposed to finally cure me of ever getting it again.

I have just passed 5 years remission from Hodgkins, so far so good. I'm really sorry to see you have re-lapsed. I can't offer any knowledge about stem cells, but wish you the very best wishes and luck. Please feel free to get intouch if I can help or support!! Do you mind if I ask if the treatment the same with the relapse?

Vivian Campbell from Def Leppard has just gone through this, he had the treatment last year and it looks like it was a complete success
Take a look at his Facebook page as he put a few updates on there
Best of luck with your treatment

OP. I would not worry too much about it (or try not to worry too much).
I presume you are having Autologous stem cell transplant i.e. using your own blood stem cells. This can be done from marrow or peripheral blood.
As you know the SCT is not what cures you....it is the high-dose chemo.
Whilst this message does not help that much you should just know that this is standard treatment for replapsed patients and that it is routine with good success rate. Hang in there and look forward to many more years cancer free!
