Get yourself to Duxford, they have one parked there although I believe the American Hanger Maybe being refurbed now, or very soon.

For commercial passenger jets I vote VC10 and Concorde

Both still the fastest commercial passenger jets on the planet.

I am a fan of F16.

Year ago I also fell for the low flying Stealth bombers at the Fairford Air Tattoo show, but they didn't bother stopping for me.

And yes, SR-71 is just awesome!

You should get over to Duxford Aerodrome, they have them all there. You can get up close and learn the history of the Blackbird, amazing piece of engineering. If you're into aviation, modern and old, it is well worth a visit.

It will always be the old faithful, F14 Tomcat, with the F4 Phantom coming in next.

blackbird is awsome. one of my fav planes. mig 29 and sukhoi su 27 and the mig 25 foxbat are also nice planes. saw the globemaster at leuchars air show and was an awsome big beast of a plane! moved so slow past the runway its amazing it stayed in the air! also like the saab gripen and the mirage and you still cant beat the crackle and noise of a tornado gr4 on full afterburner doing a high speed pass.

This was although now for me the Typhoon has become my all time favourite, I find it a simply stunning machine. The low speed/high angle of attack it can hold on fly past is incredible then puts on full afterburner and just goes straight up with a ferocious noise and looks amazing to boot

I know it might be a little boring, but the B-52 got to be up there.Over 50 yrs old and after spending all the money on the B-1 and B-2,it's still does a great job for the USAF.

My personal favourite is the Rockwell B1 lancer.. I've seen many of these along with B52's at fairford.

Will have to try and goto the tattoo this year.

Hope this isn't stating the obvious to the OP but I'll post it to save others googling it. The USS Intrepid is now part of a museum complex.

I'll never forget seeing the SR-71 at Farnborough 40 years ago, best take off ever, loved that plane ever since.

Obviously Concorde as the most beautiful plane ever made plus my dad was on the developement team for the Olympus engines so it has a special place in my heart.

Vulcan, F14 Tomcat, B1 Lancer, TSR-2 and the B777-300er are worthy of a mention as my favourite planes.
