Good to see.

Just need to demolish those houses they built on half of the track and then we'd have the full track back.

Whoever let that land go to housing should be shot!

Was down there a while ago for a Mercedes Junior Driving experience for my son. It is done on the old Railway straight. Aside from being kinda jealous of my son who can claim to have driven on part of the old Brooklands track (and I can't), I thought it was in very poor state.

Instructor informed us that as it's a listed monument they cannot just fill in the pot holes, but that there was an approval in the works to allow this to happen (seems that is what the announcement covers). Not sure what the difference is between 1920's concrete and 21century stuff, but hey I guess it will be nice to get part of the track back that people can drive on.

At the end of the experience the driving instructor even allowed him to take the car up part of the embankment on the way back to the centre.

I (normally) live a few minutes away and have a bunch of friends who have driven on the track late at night when it's snowing, for ***** and giggles. There are a few spots where the barriers are just wide enough to allow you onto the track.

The museum is pretty cool and they do a tonne of car club days there every year. Great place, in my opinion

You kind of can though; the straight track behind Mercedez-World is used as an overflow car-park, and even when the place isn't busy the gate is open to park on it, which I always do. So park there and you can say you've driven on the old track
